The summit follows a directive by President Donald Trump last October tasking his entire administration with fighting the opioid crisis, including by declaring it a nationwide public health emergency.
According to his profile on LinkedIn, Delaney is the pastor of Freedom Church, a recovery ministry that serves the needs of those facing addictions. He has served as the faith coordinator for Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Heroin Unit, speaking to church communities about how to help address the opioid epidemic.
The summit will include panels on prevention and treatment as well as law enforcement and interdiction.
