7 Monroe streets included in city’s 2018 paving program

Monroe will be resurfacing several streets this summer as part of its annual paving program.

City Council has approved an emergency resolution to allow City Manager William Brock to enter a contract with Barrett Paving Materials, Inc.

City officials said Barrett Paving Materials was the low bidder of the four bids submitted for the project that were opened March 30. Barrett’s bid was $473,697 for the project.

The streets in this year’s resurfacing project are:

  • Oaklawn Drive - Todhunter Road to Valleybrook Drive, 2-inch mill and fill.
  • Hollybrook Drive - Valleybrook Drive to Green Oval Drive, 2-inch mill and fill.
  • Salzman Road - Ohio 63 north to new pavement, 2-inch mill and fill.
  • North Union Road - Miami Valley Gaming entrance north to new pavement, 2-inch mill and fill.
  • North Union Road - Ohio 63 north to Miami Valley Gaming entrance, 1-inch overlay.
  • A. Seth Johnson Way - Loop around City Building and Post Office, 2-inch mill and fill.
  • City Building parking lot
  • Mound Cemetery - 2-inch mill and fill.
  • Old Hamilton-Lebanon Road - Ohio 63 to dead ends.
