Middletown will rotate its deputy police chiefs as acting chief until a successor is selected to succeed Chief Rodney Muterspaw, who opted to leave office earlier than previously announced.
Muterspaw’s last day in the office was Friday.
All four deputy chiefs, Majors David Birk, Scott Reeve, Leanne Hood and Andy Warrick, are applying for the position, and the testing and assessment process is underway.
The following is the set rotation, which can be adjusted, city officials said:
- Oct. 4-Oct. 20: Reeve
- Oct. 21-Nov. 3: Hood
- Nov. 4-Nov. 17: Birk
- Nov. 18-Dec. 1: Warrick
- Dec. 2-Dec. 15: Hood
- Dec. 16-Jan. 5: Reeve
