One flown by helicopter to hospital following motorcycle-van crash in Fairfield

The operator of a motorcycle was flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Hamilton County by helicopter following a two-vehicle crash today at Holden Boulevard and Ohio 4 in Fairfield.

The motorcycle was traveling west on Holden around 11:15 a.m. when it was struck by a minivan traveling north on Ohio 4, according to Fairfield police. The minivan driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Holden and Ohio 4 in Fairfield is closed except for southbound traffic on Ohio 4. Northbound traffic on Ohio 4 must turn right onto Holden and then left on North Gilmore to detour around the accident.

The front end of a motorcycle is smashed, according to a reporter on the scene. The van sustained “heavy side damage,” according to emergency dispatch traffic.
