Mason woman dead after being hit by truck in Deerfield Twp.

A Mason woman was struck and killed Tuesday night by a pickup truck while walking in the roadway in Deerfield Twp.

Candice Norton, 36, was walking south around 8 p.m. on Mason-Montgomery Road near Irwin Simpson Road when she was hit by a pickup truck also headed south on Mason-Montgomery Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lebanon Post.

Norton was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was not injured.

The highway patrol was assisted at the scene by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Deerfield Twp. Fire Department.

The crash remains under investigation.
