Snow showers, Wind Chill Advisory for some overnight

Wind Chill Advisory goes into effect at 3 a.m. Friday for Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, Shelby and Wayne (Indiana) counties through 1 p.m. Friday, and also is in effect through 1 p.m. Friday for Randolph County, Indiana.

DETAILED FORECAST

Overnight: A few flurries or snow showers are possible early, then clouds gradually break towards morning, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said.

Slick spots are possible as temperatures drop and light snow falls, and may be a factor into the morning.

Winds will increase and wind chills will drop. Overnight lows fall into the single digits with chills of 10 to 15 degrees below zero. This cold enough that skin exposed to these types of elements would be subject to frostbite in as little as 30 minutes. Limiting time outdoors is recommended. Be sure to wear several layers with winter hats, gloves or mittens and scarves.

Friday: Temperatures will be in the single digits with wind chills dropping from 10 to 15 degrees below zero. A Wind Chill Advisory goes into effect for some counties at 3 a.m. through 1 p.m.

Clouds will break for some sunshine during the day, but clouds increase again into the night. It will stay bitterly cold all day with highs only in the mid-teens. A quick system will bring some light snow showers and flurries towards the evening. A light accumulation of less an an inch is possible.

Saturday: A bitter cold start for the weekend with temperatures in the lower teens. It'll be mostly cloudy and cold all day with highs in the upper 20s. Some flurries and light snow showers are expected into the night.

Sunday: Temperatures are closer to normal in the low 30s as the weekend ends. Scattered snow showers are possible with light accumulation and breezy conditions.

Monday: A clipper system will dive south into the Miami Valley, bringing more moisture for the start of the week. We'll likely see a mix of rain into snow as temperatures fall Monday night. The timing is still uncertain. Highs reach in the middle 30s.

Tuesday: Chance for some lingering scattered snow showers early and perhaps a few flurries again late day. A light accumulation is expected. Highs for the day will be in the lower 20s.
