Butler County Common Pleas Court Judge Noah E. Powers II formally presented Officer Mintkenbaugh a plaque and resolution from the Butler County Board of Commissioners during the Oct. 23 meeting of the West Chester Board of Trustees.
Judge Powers honored Officer Mintkenbaugh for taking his service as chaplain to his fellow officers and growing that into a ministry in the community, not only for spiritual purposes but also for intervention into the lives of people who need help, connecting them with services they need.
Officer Mintkenbaugh has served with the West Chester Police Department for more than two decades. In addition to his role as Police Chaplain, he also serves as the School Resource Officer to Freedom Elementary, Ridge Junior School and Union Elementary within the Lakota Local School District.
The Stepping Up Initiative is a national campaign with participation by 38 Ohio counties. The movement was launched in May 2015 by the Council of State Governments Justice Center, the National Association of Counties, and the American Psychiatric Association Foundation with support from the U.S. Justice Department Bureau of Justice Assistance. Butler County, Ohio joined in late 2016.
