Firefighters were called to rescue a cat stuck in a tree at a Washington Twp. home on Lammers Avenue Wednesday afternoon.

Washington Twp. Fire Battalion Chief Darian Edwards said crews responded because the incident was close to the firehouse and presented no obstructions or hazards to firefighters.
The cat jumped from the arms of the firefighter as he climbed down the ladder, but the cat is safe, firefighters said.
