“Officials at the University of Dayton have received direct guidance from Ohio’s public health leadership throughout this crisis. We continue to work with them to monitor this rapidly evolving situation, which they project to continue into the months ahead and thus make an on-campus event in June impossible,” Amanda Rupp, assistant director of reunion and affinity programs at UD stated in a release. “Every year, alumni look forward to celebrating Reunion Weekend, and this decision was not made lightly.”

The university is exploring options for celebrating the reunion at a later time and will follow up with additional details in the future, Rupp said.

“All of us look forward to Reunion Weekend each year, and we share your disappointment deeply,” Rupp said. “Your health and safety remains our top priority and together, we can contribute to protecting the well-being of the University of Dayton alumni community.”

Rupp advised anyone with room reservations to cancel them as soon as possible.
