Ohio’s delegation to the U.S. Congress began reacting Friday night on social media to President Trump’s announcement of coordinated airstrikes in Syria.
The U.S.-led attack was in conjunction with French and British forces in response to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons.
Sen. Rob Portman said in two social media posts that he supports the attack and urges the White House to broaden its coalition to other countries.

U.S. Rep. Warren Davidson, who sits in the 8th District seat formerly held by House Speaker John Boehner, posted on his Facebook page that he applauds cooperation with allies, but questions the will of Congress to sustain the response.
U.S. Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Cincinnati, supports the attack, saying the use of chemical weapons “violates every norm of international diplomacy, and indeed, human decency.”
U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson, R-Marietta, said the use of chemical weapons must not be tolerated.
