Child sex assault suspect subject of U.S. Marshals, deputies search near Waynesville

UPDATE @ 2:45 p.m.:

The U.S. Marshals Service and Warren County Sheriff’s Office were among agencies searching areas near Waynesville Thursday night for a man accused of child molestation in Florida.

The suspect, 53-year-old Brian Carrier, has family in Warren County, said Charles Sano, public information officer for the U.S. Marshal’s Service in Cincinnati.

“They were out there after we received several tips he was supposed to be out there,” Sano said. “As of right now, the tips have not panned out.”

However, Sano said authorities still believe Carrier is in the area. Anyone who has information on his whereabouts is urged to call Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP (7867).

Multiple agencies including the U.S. Marshals searched areas near Waynesville Thursday for a person wanted by Marshals, according to a Warren County Sheriff’s Office official.

Multiple calls received by this news organization indicated a large law enforcement response Thursday night in the along the Little Miami River between Waynesville and Corwin.

Chief Deputy Barry Riley said deputies assisted the U.S. Marshals in a search, but referred all questions to the service.

Last week, U.S. Marshals asked for the public’s help to find Brian Carrier, 53, a man wanted on child molestation charges in Florida who might be in the Dayton area. However, it was unknown whether Thursday’s search was connected to Carrier.
