Monroe public works crews are repairing a water line that is affecting about 50 homes along Ohio 4.
Jordan Parker, assistant public works director, said the water line broke about noon today on the west side of Ohio 4 north of Todhunter Road. He did not how the water main was damaged as of late afternoon Wednesday.
Parker said crews expect the line to be repaired and back in service about 6 p.m. He did not think a boil advisory would be necessary as the city was able to maintain water flow.
Monroe officials said residents should be aware that this may cause low water pressure and at times a lack of water for the customers on the west side of Ohio 4 all the way to South Main Street in Middletown.
Scott Tadych, Middletown’s public works director, said the water break in Monroe should not have any impact for Middletown water customers. He said the interconnect line is closed unless Monroe needs water.
