Liberty Twp. man dies in four-vehicle crash

GREENDALE, Ind. — An area man died Wednesday in a four-vehicle crash along U.S. 50 in Indiana.

William M. Ensor, 55, of Liberty Twp. was the only person injured in the crash that occurred about 6:30 p.m. on eastbound U.S. 50 at Interstate 275. He was taken to Dearborn County Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigation reveals Ensor, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was driving a 1991 Toyota and rear-ended a 2010 Ford Focus driven by Juanita Haas, 41, of Aurora, Ind., according to the Greendale, Ind. Police Department.

The Ford Focus was propelled forward, striking a 2011 Chevrolet pickup driven by Eddie Wright of Wakefield, Wisc.

Wright’s vehicle then struck a 2007 Mini Cooper of JoAnne F. Kelly, 59, of Trenton.

“We do not suspect alcohol was involved in the crash,” Sgt. Kevin Turner said.

“Even though it was a terrible accident scene, we had a lot of emergency crews come in — Whitewater Twp. from across the boarder there in Ohio actually came over to assist, Lawrenceburg and Greendale Fire and EMS, and several police agencies. We were able to get the wreck taken care of and cleaned up within about 40 minutes, which for a fatality, four-car accident is amazing,” Turner said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
