Hollywood Gaming announces reopening date, health protocols

Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway announced plans to open June 19 Monday morning, as well as safety measures the raceway will take to provide a healthy environment for guests and workers.

“We are very excited to reopen Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway on Friday, June 19, at 6 a.m,” said Dan Kennedy, vice president and general manager. “While the amenities our customers have come to know and love may be somewhat limited for the time being, the ability to safely welcome back our team members and guests remains our top priority.”

The raceway will limit capacity to 50 percent of its maximum occupancy and will encourage guests to wear face masks. Staff and vendors will be required to wear masks.

Guests, staff and vendors will all complete a health screening Temperature checks will be included for staff and vendors.

“Our returning team members will be trained on these procedures and our guests will see reminder signage about them throughout the property,” Kennedy said.

Other protocols include:

  • Floor decals and signage to enforce social distancing in areas where lines typically form.
  • Configuring gaming machines and simulcast to meet social distancing requirements.
  • No large drawings, tournaments or special events.
  • Take 2 restaurant will be open with limited hours. The H-Lounge will be open with drinks and prepackaged sandwiches.
  • The Skybox, Gift Shop and valet will be closed.
  • Live music, entertainment, convention and banquet services will remain suspended.
  • Machines will be thoroughly cleaned throughout the day.
  • Sanitizer stations will be installed on the gaming floor and available throughout the facility.
  • The raceway will be closed for a period during the wee for a deep cleaning of the floor.
