Fairfield graduate enjoyed people, laughter and pets

Samantha Hope Morris of Fairfield Twp., an animal lover who loved to make people laugh, died Tuesday, June 26, from complications from cystic fibrosis. She was 20 years old.

She was born in Cincinnati on July 2, 1991, to Melvin and Sherry (Steele) Morris. Samantha also was a 2009 graduate of Fairfield High School.

Her older sister, Brandi Leugers, said, “Sam was unique. There really are no words to describe her. She was very brutally honest, but very much cared for other people besides herself.”

“She was hilarious. She wanted everybody laughing all the time. She seemed to have no fear,” Brandi said.

“She was an amazing person. I feel like I’ve lost an arm. Her and I were very close.”

She said Samantha enjoyed watching the World Wrestling Federation matches, movies and television, painting pottery and playing Guitar Hero.

She also enjoyed hanging out with her friends, driving her car and “adored” her four cats: Miley, Zoey, Tigger and Crush, Brandi said.

“I think as long as everybody was laughing and having a good time, that’s what she enjoyed the most,” she said.

Brandi said Samantha also dog-sat her seven dogs, including four special-needs pets.

Visitation will be held today at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m.
