Driver injured in Monroe semitrailer crash; state Routes 4 & 63 have reopened

UPDATE @ 12:35 a.m: State Routes 4 and 63 have reopened after a crash involving a semitrailer blocked traffic for over three hours, according to officials.

INITIAL REPORT

The driver of a semitrailer has been taken to a hospital following the crash of the rig that has blocked traffic along northbound state Routes 4 and 63 in Monroe.

The driver has been taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, according to a Monroe police dispatcher. The driver's condition is not known.

Police and fire units were dispatched about 8:25 p.m. on the report of what's being characterized as a "major accident" on that stretch of road.
