1 wounded, 1 in custody from shooting on Troy Road in Clark County

UPDATE @ 8:55 p.m.: An apparent disagreement over an auto part led to the shooting at a home on Troy Road that sent one man to a hospital and the suspect into custody, a sheriff's deputy said.

The shooting is believed to have occurred outside, near a garage on the property.

The victim, who was hit in his lower extremities, was taken to Springfield Regional Medical Center and then to Miami Valley Hospital. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, the deputy said.

The shooter has been taken into custody and will be detained pending the filing of charges.

INITIAL REPORT

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in the 5700 block of Troy Road (state Route 41), across from Northwestern High School near Springfield.

Deputies and a medic unit were dispatched about 7:10 p.m. on a report of a man who said he had been shot.

Northwestern Local Schools officials issued a Facebook post alerting parents, students and others the the playing fields were evacuated in reaction to the law enforcement activity occurring across Troy Road.

The athletics continued after the incident was reported to be under control, school officials said in the social media posting.
