Center officials said the annual dinner serves as a forum to highlight and recognize individuals from the Hamilton community who have been exceptional in their volunteerism, professional life, and contributions to the greater Hamilton community.
The 2012 honorees being recognized for their commitment to community service and outstanding accomplishments include former Hamiltonian Juan Gilbert, Jerry “Peanut” Bryant, Stephen Ford, Hamilton City Councilman Archie Johnson Jr., Betty Ross, Desiree Ash and the BTW senior men’s basketball team.
Gilbert also will be the guest speaker for the dinner.
A professor of computer science at Clemson University, Gilbert was one of nine people recognized by President Barack Obama with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the operation of the center.
Tickets cost $40 a person and tables of eight are $340.
