Ohio has a 50.1 percent response rate so far for the 2020 U.S. Census, which exceeds the national 46.2 percent average.

About 64 million households across the nation that have not yet responded are receiving a paper questionnaire starting this week.

“If you’re among the nearly half of all the nation’s households that have responded already, thank you!” said Census Bureau Director Dr. Steven Dillingham in a release from the bureau. “It has never been easier to respond on your own, whether online at 2020census.gov, over the phone, or by mail — all without having to meet a census taker. It’s something everyone can do while practicing social distancing at home to make a difference today, tomorrow and the next 10 years.”

Locally, Liberty Twp. has the best response rate of 65.1 percent, followed by Fairfield Twp. with 62.1 percent. At the bottom of the list is Oxford with a 39.4 percent response rate so far.
