Bullet found on Mason school bus, police investigating

A bus driver found a bullet in the back of a Mason school bus Wednesday after transporting students, according to the school district.

The unfired bullet was discovered toward the back of the school bus after students from the Warren County school system had exited.

Mason school officials said no one was injured and that Mason Police and school investigations - including reviews of bus video filmed of the interior of the vehicle on Wednesday - are being conducted.

According to a statement from Mason school officials on social media, the driver discovered the bullet during a post-operating inspection done after each completion of routes.

“We are not yet sure how the bullet got on the bus. However, our police partners have confirmed that students and staff are safe, and that there is no reason to believe our schools were in danger,” stated school officials.
