When young girls want to get a manicure or a pedicure, they often have to go where mom goes where they’re told to be quiet. A new business in Fairfield Twp. has set out to change that.

The Pink Party Palace, at 5579 Eureka Drive, offers its young clientele a novelty spa, said Carla Bossie, who co-owns the business with Kellie Adams. They started the business earlier this month and employ two nail technicians.

“We specialize in mini-manicures, pedicures and chocolate facials. They’ll sit here at the vanity, we turn the lights out and we get chocolate facials with cucumbers on their eyes. We just wanted to create a space where girls can be girly,” Bossie said.

Pink Party Palace is a regional franchise. The first opened in Lexington, Ky., followed by an Indianapolis location a year later, making the Fairfield Twp. location the third, said Kellie Adams, who is friends with the founder of Pink Party Palace, Octavia Cruse. Cruise wanted a Cincinnati-area location, and Adams and Bossie took on that task. Adams has a marketing degree from Xavier University and Bossie has a graphic design degree from Bowling Green.

“We want girls to be comfortable with who they are. It’s OK for them to stay girls, and have fun with their nails and feet, but we wanted to do it in a girly place instead of a grown-up salon ,” Adams said.

Bossie added, “They’re not pretending to be adults. They don’t have to be quiet, they don’t have to sit still, they can dance in the runway.”

Bossie and Adams want to grow the business by partnering with groups such as the Girl Scouts or holding activities like day camps on days when kids don’t have school. Pink Party Palace has two party rooms — one for larger occasions like birthdays, and the other for smaller events like a tea party.

“Everyone we’ve explained our idea to has really liked that. People that were in here said they would be back and tell people,” said Bossie.
