The average home price climbed to $199,616 compared to $194,086 a year earlier, a 2.85 percent increase.

David Welch, the board’s president, said the average price of homes set another new record for the month of October, extending the region’s consecutive record months to sixteen.
“Home sales remain strong and, from all indications, should remain strong through the end of this year,” Welch said.
Butler County residential sales dipped from 413 in October 2016 to 387 this October, a 6.3 percent decrease. The average home price increased from $172,642 to $177,624, a 2.9 percent boost.

Warren County residential sales dropped precipitously, going from 318 in October 2016 to 251 this October, a 21.1 percent dip. Average home price decreased from $254,299 to $241,918, a 4.9 percent drop.
Nationwide, October home sales were up 2 percent from September on a seasonally adjusted basis, but were down 0.9 percent from October 2016.
