Last week the coroner’s office asked for help in locating the family of another deceased Middletown man.

Marvin Holmes was found dead July 31 in his home at 112 S. Clinton St.

Schneider said Holmes was a veteran and the office had been working with the Veterans Services Commission without success to locate next of kin.

Schneider said today that Holmes’ family has not been located.

Last month, the coroner’s office also asked for help in finding the family of Brenda Shaffer of Hamilton. Schneider said although Shaffer had a number of friends in the community, Ohio law requires the coroner’s office to exhaust all avenues to find a deceased person’s family.

Schneider said Shaffer’s family was not located, but her church took care of burial.
