UPDATE, April 3
A local brewery is the champion of the second annual Cincinnati Craft Madness competition.
Hamilton’s Municipal Brew Works’ Approachable Blonde scored 54 percent of the 21,101 votes cast from 8 a.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday to beat out Ludlow, Ky.’s Bircus Brewery’s Alta Via Altbier in the online regional, beer-based competition.
Municipal Brew Works got its start at 20 High St. in Hamilton in June 2016. It employs between 12 and 18 people, depending on the season and any special events, according to co-founder Jim Goodman.
“This event has been so much fun to watch,” Goodman told this news outlet. “TourDeCincinnati has been a huge supporter of the local craft beer scene and they created a fun way to promote it. We also thank the Journal News for covering the contest and providing an extra push in our area.”
Goodman said the community and the brewery’s supporters “never cease to amaze us.”
“One of our main goals when starting up was to create a place for the Hamilton and Great Butler County area to relax over an Approachable Blonde or our other beers,” he said. “They are a huge part of everything we do so we are grateful to see them respond on our behalf. Cheers to them.”
