Free movie screening of ‘Hidden Figures’ in Hamilton this weekend

One City One Book is a Hamilton-wide program that promotes the powerful shared experience of reading the same book.

Copies of this year’s selection, “Hidden Figures,” have been distributed to various sites throughout the city. Library copies are also available to borrow from the Hamilton Lane Library or www.lanepl.org.

Here are some upcoming One City One Book events:

Apollo 11 Virtual Reality Experience: Oct. 1-31 at Lane Libraries Community Technology Center. For all ages. Experience the historic event of Apollo 11 through virtual reality. Children under 13 require adult supervision.

Movie presentation: "Hidden Figures," 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 1 and Oct. 24 at Hamilton Lane Library. For all ages. Enjoy popcorn and a showing of the movie "Hidden Figures."

Book Discussion Group: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton Lane Library. Join the library for a discussion of "Hidden Figures."

Stargazing with the Cincinnati Observatory: 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5 at Marcum Park. For ages 8-14. Portable telescopes will be available.

Girls Recoloring the Universe: An Astronomical Hour of Code: 11 a.m. Oct. 7 at Lane Libraries Community Technology Center. For girls ages 10-18. No prior coding experience necessary. Registration required.
