Free gun locks to be distributed this weekend

The West Chester Police Department, in conjunction with Cabela’s, will give out free gun locks this weekend, according to the township’s website.

Members of the West Chester Police Academy Alumni Association will be at the outdoor retailer from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 11-12, to discuss gun safety and pass out the free gun locks.

The event is part of Cabela’s Second Amendment Classic Weekend, which features seminars and events “to exercise your right to gain valuable knowledge from local experts,” according to the retailer’s website.

Gun locks and safety information are provided to the West Chester Police Department from Project ChildSAFE.

Cabela’s is located at 7250 Cabela Drive in West Chester.
