A South Florida school bus driver acted quickly to lead 16 children to safety after the vehicle caught fire Thursday, WSVN reported.
The children were being taken home from Nova Blanche Forman Elementary School in Davie when the bus caught fire in Tamarac, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Area resident Maria Velez told WSVN she had "never seen anything like this."
“This is unbelievable. When I saw this, oh, my heart was just -- I was just hoping there were no kids involved. Nobody, in fact,” Velez told the television station. “It made me, I don’t know. It’s bad.”
"It was high, and from over there, I could see it coming from the front of the bus," another resident, Rupa Vishnu, told WSVN.
