According to news release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Thomas Vinson Oliver, 57, was fatally struck by a Toyota Tundra pickup driven by 60-year-old Minguelina A. Schonherr around 9 p.m.

Schonherr told deputies she did not see Oliver lying on the road, and it is not clear if any other vehicles hit the man, the Times reported.

According to the release from the sheriff’s office, Oliver had been picked up earlier in the evening by Hillsborough Fire Rescue after he was found lying on another road. He was taken to a veterans hospital and refused treatment, the sheriff’s office said.

Fifteen minutes later, he was struck on a road near the hospital. He was taken to another hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.

Detectives are looking for information about other vehicles that might have struck Oliver; no charges are expected to be filed, the sheriff's office said in its release.
