If you aren’t one of the 1,700 people hired at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, or one of the 500-plus people hired at Miami Valley Gaming & Racing in Turtlecreek Twp., there’s another opportunity for new jobs at an area gambling venue.
The Cincinnati casino and Warren county racino (horse racetrack with electronic slot machines), both of which opened in 2013, will be joined this year by Belterra Park Gaming & Entertainment Center. The racino plans to open in May in Anderson Twp. in Hamilton County.
In advance of the upcoming opening, Belterra Park operators said they're opening Monday a hiring center to fill about 700 full- and part-time positions. Job seekers can apply online at www.belterrapark.com or in-person at the hiring center on-site at 6301 Kellogg Ave., Cincinnati.
The hiring center hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
“We are currently recruiting for management and line-level team members with positions ranging from food and beverage to the gaming team,” said Belterra spokesman Reggie Dotson.
“Applicants are welcome to apply online, but it’s not a requirement,” Dotson said. “We invite everybody to visit the new hiring center.”
Job openings listed on the website include beverage manager, gaming technician and security director. Applicants are required to be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and maintain valid gaming registration, among other qualifications, according to job descriptions.
The former location of River Downs Race Track, Pinnacle Entertainment Inc. bought the property in 2011. Construction started in 2012. The $300 million Belterra Park will reopen with 1,500 video lottery terminals, six restaurants and live thoroughbred racing, according to the company.
“We’re also looking for stylish and fun people to work as Ladies and Gents of Belterra Parks in the Stadium Sports Bar & Grill, the River Downs Club and various special events,” Dotson said.
Las Vegas-based Pinnacle Entertainment owns 14 casinos in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Nevada, as well as other interests in entertainment facilities.
