'Decency wins,' Sen. Jeff Flake tweets after McCain memorial service

Call it Flake News. And it was delivered in a sharply worded dispatch.

"Decency Wins," Flake tweeted, using a broadcast screen grab of former presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama in a church pew at the National Cathedral in Washington, along with former first ladies Laura Bush and Michelle Obama.

Flake, who is retiring after this year, was allied with McCain as one of Trump's most vocal critics in the Republican Party, according to The Hill. Flake also made a speech on the Senate floor in January to denounce the president's attacks on the mainstream news media.

During Saturday's service, many of the speakers praised McCain's civility, bipartisanship, and his service and sacrifice for his country, the Republic reported.

Twenty-four senators, including Flake, attended Saturday's service, according to Roll Call. Six former senators also attended.
