Two charged with OVI in area of Butler County checkpoint

Two motorists were charged with OVI Friday night during an OVI checkpoint in Fairfield, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The check was held from 9:15 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday on Dixie Highway, just south of Commercial Drive in Fairfield. It was conducted by the State Patrol, Butler County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and members of the Butler County OVI Task Force.

During the checkpoint, 511 vehicles were checked and three were diverted for further investigation, then released, according to the press release. Two drivers were arrested for OVI during saturation patrols in the immediate area of the checkpoint.
