Teen arrested in theft of guns, electronics, cash

A 16-year-old West Chester Twp. boy was arrested less than one day after he allegedly stole about $1,200 worth of guns, electronics and cash.

The teen allegedly entered a home on Ashwood Drive at around 5 p.m. Aug. 1 and stole an XBox 360, two Glock guns, a 15-round magazine, a television, an Apple iPad, two backpacks and $300 in cash. Police reports indicated force was not used.

The boy was arrested the next day at 10:30 a.m. at his home and all of the items were recovered.

Police charged him with burglary, a second degree felony, and took him to the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center, according to police reports.

Butler County Juvenile Court Administrator Rob Clevenger said the teen is still in the detention center. He had a hearing on Aug. 2 and no plea was entered. He is awaiting a second pretrial hearing with Judge Kathleen Romans on Aug. 23.
