Fairfield police seek Ameristop robbery suspect

Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect in an attempted robbery Tuesday night at a Woodridge Boulevard business in Fairfield.

The suspect entered AmeriStop at about 10:15 p.m. with a wearing a hooded jacket with a scarf covering part of his face. He pointed a gun that was wrapped in some type of white cloth and demanded money, according to Fairfield Officer Doug Day.

“He left without taking anything,” Day said.

The suspect fled in an SUV traveling toward Dixie Highway. The suspect is described as thin black male who stands between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall.
