Police respond to calls of woman in cemetery ‘screaming and acting weird’

Oxford police were notified by several callers in the area of the cemetery at College Corner Pike and North Locust Street of a woman in the cemetery “screaming and acting weird.”

The woman was located at 8:25 a.m. July 17 and told officers she was “just hanging out enjoying the weather,” according to a police report.

While questioning the woman, police asked if she had anything illegal on her or in her bag.

She said she did not and allowed officers to check her bag.

It was found to contain several needles and syringes and two unidentified blue pills, according to the report.

The pills were sent to the lab to be tested. Any charges will depend on the results, according to police.
