Men charged with taking $12K from elderly victim

A Middletown resident is one of two men charged with defrauding an elderly victim out of home repairs.

Kenneth Christian, 54, of Young Street in Middletown, is being charged with theft from an elderly person, according to Warren County court records. Christian is in the Warren County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, according to a court spokeswoman.

Facing the same charge is Rocky Collins, 56, of Metamora, Ill. Collins is not in custody, the spokeswoman said.

They have both been indicted for taking $12,000 from an elderly person for roof repairs they did not make, according to court records.

The charges stem from activity that occurred Jan. 24-27 in Franklin, according to the indictment filed Monday. The charges are third-degree felonies, according to the indictment.
