Jones, 23, of the 600 block of Eaton Avenue, was charged with felonious assault and discharge of a firearm into a habitation days later following a Hamilton police investigation.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Friday in Hamilton Municipal Court, but a direct indictment was returned for three counts of felonious assault and discharge of a firearm into a habitation.

Jones remains housed in the Butler County Jail on $500,000 bond. An arraignment has not yet been set on the indictment.

Police were called shortly after 9:30 p.m. Nov. 21 to a report of a child shot inside the home.

When they arrived, the 2-year-old gunshot victim was being driven by her mother to Cincinnati Children’s Liberty Campus in Liberty Twp. From there, the child was transferred to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. The children have been discharged from the hospital.

According to neighbors, a man drove by the house twice and shot multiple times.
