A Florida police officer had to own up to his mistake after realizing that it was his car running a red light while reviewing camera footage on his lunch break.

WTSP reports that Officer Tim Glover of the Haines City Police Department was reviewing red light camera footage recently and noticed a police cruiser making a left turn as the light changed to red on Sept. 8. Unlucky for him, the cruiser was his.

"(I) realized that the vehicle did look familiar, and I was hoping it wasn't mine, but I walked out and confirmed it was mine out here in the parking lot," he said.

Glover told WTSP that he decided to "take responsibility" for his actions, which meant turning himself in and paying a fine.

"That's what makes wearing the badge so important," acting police Chief Jay Hopwood said. "If you don't have that, then your name is mud in law enforcement."

As for Glover, the mistake he found on his lunch break still doesn't add up. "It was a good sandwich, but it probably wasn't worth the $160-plus dollars I ended up paying for it," he told WTSP.
