Man shot in the leg in Fairfield bar parking lot released from hospital

UPDATE @ 11:37 a.m., MAY 6:

The early Saturday morning shooting at Sneaky Pete’s, a bar on Lighthouse Drive in Fairfield, was an altercation between two groups in the parking lot, according to police.

A 23-year-old man was shot in the thigh during that altercation and was transported Saturday morning to Mercy Hospital and then flown to University Hospital in Cincinnati “as a precaution,” said Fairfield Police Chief Steve Maynard.

The man, who’s name has yet to be released, was treated and released from the hospital, Maynard said.

INITIAL POST, MAY 5:

A man was shot in a Fairfield bar early this morning and later taken by medical helicopter to a Cincinnati hospital.

The shooting, said Fairfield Police, took place at 1:45 a.m. at Sneaky Pete’s Bar at 3152 Lighthouse Drive in the Butler County city.

Police said the unidentified man is 23 years old and was initially transported to Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, then taken by Air Care helicopter to U.C. Medical Center in Cincinnati. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police describe the incident as being under “active investigation” and said additional information will be released as it becomes available. Any witnesses are asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department.
