Preble County homicide investigation: Remains are that of Indiana man

Preble County detectives were in Indianapolis Wednesday, working with police to determine the history on the Indiana man whose decomposing remains were found Monday morning off a county road, Sheriff Mike Simpson said.

Simpson said fingerprints were used to establish the identity of the decomposing remains as Adolph A. Hunter, 57. The remains had been in a wooded area in the 7000 block of Eaton Gettysburg Road, several days.

The body was sent to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office and an autopsy was done Monday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Results of the autopsy tell us it’s a homicide,” Simpson said Wednesday afternoon. “There are several elements of this we just don’t want to release at this point in time.”

Simpson said his detectives were due back from Indianapolis yesterday evening and the sheriff’s office should know more then about the homicide investigation.
