Bicyclist charged after police find gun without permit and drugs

A Middletown bicyclist was charged with having weapons under disability, drug abuse/methamphetamine and a Carrying Concealed Weapon violation after he was found to have a concealed gun on him and he was drug dependent, according to Middletown police.

Timothy Stacy II, 28, was charged Tuesday night after he was located in the 1800 block of North Avenue slumped over and leaning forward on his bike, the police report read.

Stacy told police he had a gun on him, and it was concealed inside his jacket. He doesn’t own a Carrying Concealed Weapon permit, the report read. There were 12 rounds in the gun, 11 in the magazine, one in the chamber, according to police.

Police also found a small baggie with a crystal-like substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Stacy will have his preliminary hearing Oct. 24 in Middletown Municipal Court on the three felony charges, according to court records.
