Unseasonably cold; Frost advisory, freeze warning in effect in morning

Unseasonably cool weather remains for the beginning part of this week.

Frost Advisory is in effect from 2 to 9 a.m. today for Butler, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble and Warren counties; and a Freeze Warning is in effect from 2 to 9 a.m. for Champaign, Clark and Logan counties, both issued by the the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

The high temperature of 49 degrees for Monday set a record for the lowest high at the Dayton International Airport. The previous lowest high was 50 degrees for May 11 reached in 1966, 1963 and 1960, the NWS reported.

After areas of frost this morning, it will be mostly sunny but still unseasonably cold with highs in the upper 50s. Tonight will be partly cloudy with lows in the upper 30s.

Wednesday will be slightly warmer. Highs will reach the lower 60s under partly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will reach the lower 50s.

Starting in the early hours of Thursday, showers are likely all day, with thunderstorms also possible in the afternoon. Otherwise skies will be mostly cloudy with a high near 77 degrees.

Thursday night, we will still have a chance of showers, with mostly cloudy skies and low temperatures dropping to around 64 degrees.
