Carlisle school board expected to place renewal levy on May ballot

The Carlisle Board of Education is expected to proceed in placing a five-year, 6.05-mill operating renewal levy on the May 8 primary election ballot at its board meeting today.

The levy generates $993,222 a year for district operating expenses. District officials said there would be no increase to taxpayers.

If approved in May, it will continue to cost $185.28 a year for the owner of a home valued at $100,000, according to the Warren County Auditor’s Office.

The board began the two-part process to place the levy on the May ballot after approving a resolution of necessity at its Dec. 18 meeting.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. today in the Choir/Lecture Room at Carlisle High School.
