Car hits Butler County sheriff’s cruiser in hit-skip crash

An investigation is continuing after a hit-skip crash involving a Butler County sheriff’s cruiser.

The driver of a light blue Ford Crown Victoria ran a red light at about 1 a.m. Tuesday in Franklin, striking a Butler County sheriff deputy’s cruiser at the corner of South Main and East 2nd streets.

The driver fled the scene, according to a press release, but the blue Ford’s license plate was left on the road.

The blue Ford was later located abandoned on Farm Avenue.

The deputy was not injured as a result of the crash.
