Madera police officers and paramedics from Pistoresi Ambulance found the mother in labor in the lobby of the fast-food restaurant, KSEE reported.

Police said there was no time to take the woman to a hospital, so the delivery took place in the restaurant, the television station reported.

After the birth, the woman and her baby boy were taken to a hospital, where they are doing fine, KFNS reported.

"It's not every day you get to help deliver a newborn baby at McDonald's," the Madera Police Department wrote on its Facebook page.
