The Butler County OVI Task Force will be out in force this weekend conducting and “OVI Blitz” along the U.S. 27 corridor.
The blitz will be staged between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Friday and Saturday through Ross, Hanover, Reily and Oxford townships. Police agencies will man U.S. 27 and have additional officers on OVI patrol.
Police agencies not situated near U.S. 27 will have additional officers in their jurisdictions also looking for impaired drivers.

The OVI Task Force recommends these tips if people plan to consume alcohol:
- Plan a safe way home before festivities begin.
- Before drinking, designate a sober driver and give that person your keys.
- If you are impaired, use a taxi, call a sober friend or family member so you are sure to get home safely.
- If you see an impaired driver, contact the local law enforcement agency.
