Becker won election to the Fourth District of the Republican State Central Committee in March 2016, beating incumbent Patti Alderson. This past Nov. 7, she again won an election, this time beating out seven others to serve out the remaining time on Ohio Rep. George Lang’s township trustee seat.

Lang, R-West Chester Twp., was appointed to in September to succeed former state lawmaker Margy Conditt.

Becker submitted her resignation to Ohio GOP Chairman Jane Timken and Butler County GOP Chair Todd Hall on Wednesday. Ohio GOP bylaws prohibit a state central committee member from holding an elected office.

”The year I served was very exciting with the adoption of a Republican Party platform, a new chairwoman, Jane Timken, and the election of President Trump,” Becker said. “I am looking forward to new opportunities to serve the citizens of West Chester Twp.”
