Butler County, Cincinnati shops offer deals for Record Store Day

Record Store Day is Saturday and a number of local stores, two of them in Butler County, have special deals planned to celebrate the occasion.

Here's a look at five Butler County and Cincinnati stores where you can, as vinyl advocates Pearl Jam put it, "Spin the Black Circle."

Main Street Vinyl (Hamilton)

Located at 227 Main St., Main Street Vinyl, opened at 227 Main Street in Hamilton in 2017.

For Record Store Day, the shop is opening the doors early at 8 a.m. and displaying hundreds of new arrivals. It also will offer $5 in “vinyl bucks” for a future purchase for every $25 spent that day. In addition, the store will offer coffee and doughnuts for early risers and door prizes, giveaways, raffles and free swag throughout the day.

Lester’s Rock N Roll Shop (Middletown)

Lester’s Rock N Roll Shop, which opened at 1123 Central Ave. in downtown Middletown in 2016, will offer exclusive deals and free swag. Doors open at 9 a.m. with doughnuts and coffee.

Plaid Room Records (Loveland)

Located at Plaid Room Records, 20 Karl Brown Way, Loveland, Plaid Room Records will release more than 1,000 used LPs for RSD, plus The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio live at 7 p.m and a keg of Happy Little Plaid Tree from MadTree Brewing at Cappy’s Wine and Spirits. Customers will get an exclusive RSD pint glasses free with any $75 purchase, $1 off Turntable Pils from Great Lakes Brewing Company at Paxton’s Grill and complimentary coffee from Twisted River Coffee Roaster.

Local restaurants will open early to serve breakfast and food trucks will be on hand.

Everybody’s Records (Pleasant Ridge)

Everybody's Records at 6106 Montgomery Rd., Cincinnati, will offer "plenty of vinyl" and give away turntables and gift certificates. Live music also will be featured at 2 p.m. courtesy of The Jimmy D. Three.

Shake It Records (Cincinnati)

In addition to the thousands of records the store says it will have for sale, Shake It Records, 4156 Hamilton Ave., Cincinnati, will also feature a new Rhinegeist brew and three live performances. The store opens at 8 a.m. and customers can get 10 percent off by donating a canned good for CAIN-Churches Active In Northside.

Skeleton Dust Records (Dayton)

Opened last fall, Skeleton Dust Records at 133 E. 3rd St. in Dayton

will be stocking the store with new and used titles of all kinds and have deejays Josh Egeland, Sophie Huling, Jay Madewell and James DeGregorio spinning records throughout the day.
