2 arrested on sex charges in Middletown undercover operation

Middletown police conducted an undercover operation in a park known for sexual activity and made two arrests in 30 minutes, officials said.

A male undercover officer spent about a half hour in Miami River Park on North Verity Parkway (Ohio 73) today before arresting two local men, according to Middletown Police Lt. Scott Reeve.

The park is known as a location to solicit sexual activity, Reeve said, adding that officers have recently noticed an uptick in activity there.

Kevin Combs, 38, of the 42oo block of Grand Avenue, was charged with gross sexual imposition. Police say he grabbed the genitals of a Middletown undercover detective while engaged in a conversation.

Jesse Caldwell, 34, of the 3100 block of Grand Avenue, was charged with soliciting after offering to perform a sex act on the undercover detective, according to police.
