Crews were called Friday morning to a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Preble County.
The crash was reported around 8:15 a.m. in the 12000 block of state Route 122 South in Gratis Twp.
Preble Shawnee Local Schools Superintendent Todd Bowling said five students were aboard the bus, but that they and the driver were not hurt.
“All were picked up at the scene after they were checked out by EMA services,” Bowling said.
Preliminary investigation showed that a Dodge Charger headed north on state Route 122 traveled left of center, striking the school bus headed in the opposite direction. The Charger then struck a pickup truck behind the bus, according to a release from Sheriff Mike Simpson.
The driver of the Charger, James D. Singleton of Camden, was taken to Atrium Medical Center in Middletown with serious injuries. His passenger, Jessica Adams of Camden, was taken to Kettering Health Preble - Emergency Center with injuries that were not life-threatening, the sheriff said.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt.
Gratis Fire Department and EMS, West Elkton Gratis Twp. Fire and Wayne Twp. Fire and EMS responded to the crash, which remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
