The animated show, which is created in the U.K. and uses a British voice cast, is shown around the world for preschoolers.
"Yeah I can voice for the #PeppaEffect in our house. Tayla absolutely lapses into a slight Brit accent and vocabulary, and uses the word 'straightaway' more than I ever have in my life! 😜" tweeted Eddie Painter.

Yeah I can vouch for the #PeppaEffect in our house. Tayla absolutely lapses into a slight Brit accent and vocabulary, and uses the word "straightaway" more than I ever have in my life! 😜.

Has your kid suddenly developed a British accent like this cute girl from the Charlotte-area?
— NBC Charlotte (@wcnc) February 13, 2019
Well, it might be due to the "Peppa-pig syndrome" 😂👏 https://t.co/X2UCz6WSVo (Video: Brandi Nichole Hall) pic.twitter.com/Fba7pwiFvu
We went through that phase. My daughter even saved my number on her phone as mummy pig!

My daughter didn't get a British accent, but she did adopt British words from the show. She called every vacation a "holiday."

I have trying to teach my daughter hindi. She is 4yrs old.
But she still is not able to make sentences in hindi but can speak English very well in British accent.
My 5-year-old nephew only goes on holiday, NOT vacation. He's California born-and-bred. #PeppaEffect

I thought I was seriously crazy for a while until my dad pointed out Olivia was starting to have an English accent! Guess I’m not the only one whose kid is suffering from the #PeppaEffect 🤣https://t.co/6HzCOKy8Q5

English Twitter, of course, was satisfied with the result.
They said the sun would never set on the #British Empire. They were right. #PeppaEffect https://t.co/kvkMkB6l1L

Other non-Americans pointed out normally their kids pick up Americanisms from watching our television. This is just one small case of the reverse.
People complaining about their kids speaking with an English accent (no such this as a British accent) because of something they're calling the #PeppaEffect. Never heard anyone complain about kids speaking with a random American accent thanks to all the US shows over here though.

Now American's know how the rest of the world feel when our children play mimicking the american accent. I recently have had the experience of my 7 year old correcting me everytime i say nappy or dummy to be told it is diper and pacifier! #PeppaEffect

Disney Channel and Nickelodeon give our kids American accents, so they really shouldn't object.
